where philosophy and media come together

perediza is an independent magazine and creative agency operating at the intersection of philosophy, art, and culture. Our work spans four pillars: climate change, art, style, and life. Each is approached through a common thread of questioning and philosophical enquiry.

The name perediza derives from the Avestan pairi-daēza, meaning "walled garden." From ancient Persian the word passed into Greek as paradeisos, and through Latin scripture into the English paradise. We take it as an editorial principle: a cultivated space for thought.

We believe media is a form of education. Every piece we publish is built to teach as much as it provokes, bringing philosophical thinking into subjects often treated commercially, from the cultural industry and mental health to climate change, media, and the future of art and fashion.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2022 and now based in London, perediza publishes a print issue alongside continuous digital editorial, and is read internationally.

We are committed to platforming new voices. A significant share of our pages is given to first-time writers: emerging thinkers, artists, and researchers whose work belongs in serious cultural discourse but rarely finds room within it. Our editorial process is built around developing these writers rather than filtering them out.

Alongside the magazine, perediza studios is our in-house creative agency, working with brands and cultural institutions across film, photography, and mixed-media. Studios extends the magazine's philosophical sensibility into commissioned work, applying the same editorial rigour to creative direction, content, and campaigns.

Accessibility is part of our editorial discipline. We write in language that is intellectually rigorous and openly inclusive, built to translate ideas across audiences without diminishing their depth.

Media is overdue for reshaping. We believe its future is interdisciplinary, philosophical, and educational, a form capable of carrying intellectual and cultural ideas to a wider readership with rigour intact.

perediza is distributed by MMS London and stocked across more than thirty locations internationally, including bookshops, galleries, and cultural institutions in London, Edinburgh, Paris, Copenhagen, New York, and Los Angeles.

our logo

our logo is a reinterpretation of the sibyl ‘persicha’ from Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling painting. The Persian sibyl was the first of all sibyls and is depicted by her wise features and secretive posture. Michelangelo masterfully depicts an aura of mystery around her and a delicate portrayal of her immense focus on her oracles.

Using her as the symbol of perediza and the cover was to portray how we are fluid in time. It speaks of the future yet recalls the past.
